School Choice Programs
Alaska offers K–12 students and their families a few types of school choice. Parents can choose from an allotment program, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and, under the right conditions, a non-zoned traditional public school within their district.
Private School Choice
Alaska’s Correspondence School Allotment Program is unique in that it includes courses and services at non-public schools. State lawmakers have considered other school vouchers and education savings accounts in the past. * Alaska Other [Learn More](https://www.edchoice.org/school-choice/programs/correspondence-school-allotment-program/)

Alaska does have some charter schools, which are publicly funded schools that are free from many of the regulations that restrict traditional public schools.
Home School Choice
Parents have to meet certain laws in Alaska when homeschooling their children.
