Alabama offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including three private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools and homeschooling. Alabama does not currently allow students to attend traditional public schools outside of their zoned schools via open enrollment policies.

Alaska offers K–12 students and their families a few types of school choice. Parents can choose from an allotment program, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and, under the right conditions, a non-zoned traditional public school within their district.

Arizona provides K–12 students and their families ample school choice options, including five private educational choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and public school choice via open enrollment.

Arkansas offers K–12 students and their families various types of school choice, including two private school choice program—an education savings account and tax-credit scholarship—as well as charter schools, magnet schools, homeschooling and traditional public school choice via open enrollment.

Florida offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including three private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and inter-and intra-district public school choice via open enrollment policies.

Georgia offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including three private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and inter-and intra-district public school choice via open enrollment policies.

Idaho offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including a private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, homeschooling, and public school choice via open enrollment.

Illinois offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including one private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and intra-district public school choice via an open enrollment policy.

Indiana offers K–12 students and their families nearly every type of school choice, including four private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, homeschooling and inter- and intra-district public school choice via open enrollment policies.

Iowa offers K–12 students and their families a few types of school choice, including three private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, homeschooling and inter-district public school choice via an open enrollment policy.

Kansas offers K–12 students and their families some types of school choice, including a private school choice program, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and inter-district public school choice via an open enrollment policy.

Louisiana offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including four private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and inter-and intra-district public school choice via open enrollment policies.

Maine offers K–12 students and their families some types of school choice, including a town tuitioning program, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and inter-district and intra-district public school choice via an open enrollment policies.

Maryland offers K–12 students and their families a few types of school choice, including one private school choice program, charter schools, magnet schools and home schooling. Maryland does not offer any type of public school choice through open enrollment.

Minnesota offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including two private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and inter-district public school choice via an open enrollment policy.

Mississippi offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including three private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and inter-district public school choice via an open enrollment policy.

Missouri provides K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including one tax-credit education savings account program, charter schools, magnet schools, homeschooling and public school choice via open enrollment.

Montana provides K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including two private school choice programs, magnet schools, home schooling and public school choice via open enrollment. Montana does not have any charter schools.

West Virginia offers K–12 students and their families a number of school choice options—an education savings account (ESA) program, homeschooling and intra-district and inter-district public school choice via open enrollment. West Virginia does not have magnet schools or charter schools.
